I'm Josephine Thorp, a painter working out of a converted warehouse studio, where the light changes three times before noon. My work begins with weather, tide charts, and the colour of things that are about to change — then gets pinned down in oil, pigment, and whatever pushes the paint furthest.
My pieces have travelled through group shows across Lisbon, Marseille, and Copenhagen, and now live in private collections on four continents. Every canvas starts the same way: no sketch, no plan, just the first mark I can't take back.
